Back in January last year we posted a video from one of our hobbyists “The Black Reef” showing his aquarium conversion from metal halides to LED lights on a 90 gallon aquarium. Yesterday we received an updated video showing the coral growth after 7 months. “Ecoxotic 216 Watt LED Lighting System I’ve had them on my tank for 7 months now and thing look great! I added a lot of blue LED’s and only running 216 watts a lot better than the 760 I had before. I live in Florida and the fact that LED’s run 1/10 of the heat that MH do was the best thing.”
It’s looking pretty cool.
could you describe which leds did you added to the panorama fixture?
The fixtures he is using are the 23.5″ Panorama LED fixtures with one additional 453nm Actinic Blue Panorama Module added to each light fixture.
Looks like he as 3 Blue module and 2 stunner in each panorama fixture.
I’m asking because i have a tank if the same size, and two 23 Panorama fixture, and I added 5 blue stunner in each panorama,
So does the blue module has more “power” than the blue stunner? Should I use the module instead of stunner, or does not have a significant difference?
Thanks.
Yes, the Panorama LED Modules are a but more powerful than the Stunner LED strips, so they will produce more color & more shimmer at a deeper depth. The Stunners provide more color, but its not quite as noticeable as the Panorama Modules.
How long do you run your LED ? white?and blue? I have the 17.1/2 panorama on my 60 cube that I just started. This is my first reef tank. I planing to do mixed corals.
We normally recommend running the LED’s 10 hours per day and leave the blue Stunner LED strip included with your fixture on 24 hrs. per day.
